free version is supposed to be limited to 10 topics, but this doesn't seem to be enforced (yet?).good: easy to use and configure; can import chm files; can paste html into it (but not back out).bad: can not edit html of pages (although you can for the template); no tooltips in the editor - you have to play guess the icon function; couple minor bugs and had issues rendering some of my backgriound colours.
work great. i've used it on windows xp (32-bit), vista (32-bit), 7 (32-bit), 7 (64-bit) without any problems!
best epim aroundhow? rtfm
i decided to try this as i am setting up a new laptop sitting just to the left of my main pc. i am really impressed. simply move the mouse to the left side of the screen and you have instant control of the laptop using the pc's mouse and keyboard. saves a lot of time. just drag the files from the pc to the laptop. simple to set up.
fabulous product. i use it for pretty much all my schoolwork and it works like a charm. cute logo, too.
@roj:i agree completely & have said this for years.all you really need are divx, xvid & ac-3 audio...it is highly unlikely that you will need anything else..not including real or qt.
not joking. graphics-wise, almost any game on the market today beats continuum. no one can argue that the graphics are dated. if graphics are all you care about, go play another game. but the sheer playability (and replayability) is second to none. i have never played a game that has kept me so interested over so many years. i really enjoyed games like diablo, c&c, and counterstrike. but let's face it-- after a while, those games get old, and some company eventually rehashes the same game with the same play style with better graphics and better gameplay. continuum is totally different. don't be fooled by its incredibly simplistic-looking 2-d interface. the different gameplay scenarios are endless. you like 1 on 1 fighting? continuum has it. smaller team action like 4 on 4? no problem. you against the other 50 people in the playing arena? check. massive free-for-all games with with 90 people simultaneously? yup. let me tell you what i thought, the first time i saw this game. it was back in 1995 or so. i saw my roommate playing it on my pc, and i said "what kind of stupid game is that? why don't you play command & conquer instead? that looks sooooo dumb." then he said, "yeah, it looks dumb...but you have to try it. i've been playing for 6 hours, and i can't stop." you simply have to try it. don't discard it after playing it for 1, 2, or even 3 hours. get used to it and try to understand the way the game works and how to get better. everyone who plays continuum goes through a terribly frustrating learning curve and dies hundreds of times before they begin to understand how it all works. and once you start getting better, you can bet that you'll be playing for a long, long time. this game has far greater staying power than other games. i've played all the cool games. i have my fun the quakes, diablos, and warcrafts. they're really great fun for a few weeks...even a few months. but in the end, i always go back to subspace. it's simply the best. oh....and the chat interface makes the game extremely cool, too. once you get used to it, it becomes second nature. you can have a 8 or 9 chat channels with 10 people on each channel, if you want. someone mentioned that "only geeks play this game." well, you're partially right. there are a lot of geeks who play this game. surprisingly, there are a lot of very normal people who are closet continuum addicts. they play continuum and get their kicks killing people from all over the world. and then they go back to their daily lives. (yes, you know who you are...) ;-) bottom line: this game is extremely fun and extremely addictive once you understand how to play it. but you can only enjoy it if you try it out and give it a chance. have fun, gland ps - play this game at your own risk. once you start enjoying it, you will be addicted.
it is a *tiny* bit unstable, however, all-in-all i must say that this could really be the end-all as far as successfully downloading deliberately obfuscated streams from the internet! i can't believe someone didn't do this years ago.in theory, it is basically impossible to prevent this program from downloading streaming content, precisely because of the fact that it functions on the network level (hence the mandatory winpcap driver installation). i personally haven't had it fail once, even on sites that violently block you from downloading.excellent, keep up the good work!
@lord -to start with you have felt the need to explain yourself to yours truly as your comments testify - in addition anyone who feels they are a 'power user' needs to get a grip on life & is delusional - what differentiates a ␘power user␙ from a mere human such as myself apart such a person having an inherent mental aberration?you did mention the '$' in your review so yes money was a part of it, i feel the stardock gizmo is the best replacement there is but still can't work out why ms removed the ability for users ('power' or normal) to use the start menu maybe on initial install but that's another story.edit: ignore the 'power user' part of my review as lord has edited his/hers ~
