User reviews 515ls ethernet driver
an allright prog. i give it 4 stars. i stick to blindread/write as it can defeat more copy protection schemes. -x
i've been working with sr for a long time and i know that all other progs don't have any flexibility in comparison with sr. all renamers can add strings to names and change case of the letters and all renamers understand exif and id3 but what next? where is the flexibility to allow users work with custom tasks? can other software automatically sort out files to different folders? can other software have numerous independent counters for each subfolder of files to process them all at one click? can other software change the renaming algorithms "on the fly" by using contitionals right inside the renaming template? does other software allow users to connect plugins to futher extend renaming possibilities, for instance, read "description" metatag from html files? does other software allow users to write their own plugins to use specific algorithms that any existing program just cannot provide? can other software rename files right on ftp servers to save money on trafic/online time? and finally, does any developer provide friendly support, for example, create templates for you if you don't understand something? believe my own experience - with sophisticated rename you have it all, with other software you have only basics, and sooner of later there will come a moment when you understand it and will have to look for another program, a program like sophisticated rename.
i tried synergy but found it had some minor problems. i went back to my kvm. mouseshare appears to work great, no problem so far. i am using one monitor and two computers. one input is on hdmi and the other is dvi. push the button on the lcd to change, perfect. nice peice of software.running win7 64 bit.there is one problem over running a kvm. my primary sytem has the mouse and kb plugged into it. when both systems are running all works perfectly. if i want to start the secondary system by itself, of course the share does not work. that is where a kvm comes in, each share is independent via the kvm button.
i bought a new hp notebook with windows 7 ultimate and downloaded xp mode from microsoft. that took 90 minutes. it worked okay the first time, except for my not knowing how to get it to recognize my flash drive. the next day, i started up the pc again and later clicked for xp mode. this little window pops up and tells you it is opening virtual pc or something. you have to wait three or four minutes for this to activate the xp mode, much longer than i would prefer to wait. then the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh attempts that i made to open xp mode all failed. it would give me an error message, "could not enable the integration features" then suggests i try again or continue without these features. why should i continue without the features, and what features will be i be sacrificing? that doesn't make sense. i called microsoft and asked them to help me. they opened a case and did their best to get xp mode to work, but were unable to do so. thus i returned the computer to hp for a refund. i ordered another notebook that has windows 7 32-bit. i think this will be the answer to being able to use my old software. xp mode is not worth it.
great im no adds used it for years is there a updated toaster that works with later builds
i have been using this for over a year, it's small, doesn't create any problems and works well. it's all i need.
it used to be the "go to" to remove crap from your computer, then they tried to make something out of it it didn't need to be. they made it junk 3 years ago and it is still junk@jbetanewsb: if you look at the 5 star reviews, they are all at least 2 years old, going on 3 or more. they were posted back when this thing was worth downloading. not many use it anymore, hence the lack of recent, lower ratings.
this is a nice bulk file optimzier tool, it really does slim down and optimize files. however it has 2 critical flaws which needs to be fixed. things that could be improved:1.) the default setting is to remove metadata info. so for example on jpg files, the program strips out critical pieces of exif data from jpg files:exif-camera (date picture was taken)exif-origin (camera f-stop/exposure/iso)this is critical because if you want to rename your jpg files based on "date taken", it's stripped out and won't work.under "options" there is a checkbox "copy metadata". i recommend you enable it for all applicable file extensions. this really should be enabled by default.2.) there is no "abort" or "pause" button. you have to close out of the program to cancel operations. understandable as it uses multiple command line operations/plugins, but it'd be nice if it was possible to abort.other considerations:pdf/png/exe compression compression is slow, especially on dual core systems (ymmv) sometimes not worth the effort considering most pdf/png/exe files won't compress much further.keep in mind during processing, the program places originals in your recycle bin. so if you process 1 gb of data, it takes up 2gb of space (until you empty recycle bin)in some cases exe files also do self integrity checks on itself and related dll files. some cases it fails to run after compression. one example is winwgetportable, which failed nsis self integrity check after compression of both exe and dll files.tests:on a sample jpg photo created from a canon eos 60d (18 megapixels) it shrunk down the file size from 5.95 mb to 5.88 mb with no difference in picture quality, even zoomed up close. true to it's stated "lossless" description.on a sample pdf file, by default it downconverts to 150dpi, so images inside will slightly change when viewed close. setting to "prepress 300dpi" should make it virtually exact.conclusion:good program for squeezing every last drop of space from files, just make sure to backup first, exclude certain program directories, enable "copy metadata" for all extensions, enable "keep file attributes", and change pdf dpi to "prepress 300" under program options.
nconvert that is part of xnview is very handy - i use it all the time. this is that plus a bunch more in a really nice ui. really great program.
