wow, i'm shocked... this thing is actually good. might be the fastest browser on linux that i have seen too.you do have to spend some time configuring to get rids of all the search links that refer back to affiliate site embedded by the authors of the program, but once thats done you are good to go.
you're not listening. avert downloads those files because it needs to use them. and it's not as if i'm not being transparent. when i download them, the cli clearly shows where it's being downloaded to.and for future reference, i didn't scold you. i only stated what avert actually does and said that if anyone had any issues, to contact me first before posting a bad review without knowing all of the information.i want a fair review, but i don't feel that you gave me that. you gave avert one star not knowing that the files are deleted. check it out.download avert, download asquared and run it with updates. avert will extract the asquared files to that temp location in your user profile and the signatures will also be placed there. once downloads are finished, it deletes the folder. i'll even make a video to prove it.also, i mentioned the ms thing because it's relevant. they say to place files there, so i do, but i don't keep them there.
well, it's impossible to fairly review this app because the developer has crippled the trial version with this ridiculous limit:"sorry, but this trial version allows you to process maximum 30 files at once just to show you how it works. if you want to process an unlimited number of files, you must buy the full version of sophisticated rename."if you cripple your trial version, then how can anyone know that your software does what you claim it does? let us know when that restriction is removed, and i'll come back and test it, and if it's as good as you say, i'll gladly buy it. most renamer software, however, is judged on how quickly and easily it allows the user to efficiently rename a range of files and folders. sophisticated rename's interface relies on the clunky and click-driven rules window. by the time you're done, your mouse finger is worn out.

very quick, very unbloated. expensive, but maybe a friend has a disc of it.
some impressive result... fast i have a folder i use to drop all the images and pdfs and such that end up on my desk. i dragged it to the file optimizer window and got a list of the 72 files that where in there and sub-folders.the overall size went down by 15.1 mb (15,872,000 bytes) / 35.6 mb (37,384,192 bytes) = 42.4%? did i do that right...only 42 of the files where altered so the crcs had change. i used a synchronize to compare the new folder with the original i backed up.but it was not clear when selecting a file in the file optimizer list if the context menu would process just that file or the whole list. so i suggest allowing users to select files or have the text in the context menu reflect the range of files to be processed like "precess all". or at least let the user know in the documentation what to expect.every one is going to say this overwrites files without asking so maybe a warning would relieve these concerns. or an option to backup all files changed...ok, that said, non of my files seem any worse for wear. but i'm no x'pert.
best epim aroundhow? rtfm
agreed, i had lots of support, was a paid user. but since their latest releases starting with adaware 2007, they have gone way down.the "business" is taking over, and has become only about the profit, not about a rock solid application anymore.
i personally like this program since its interface is pretty simple. i have a few issues with the features it offers, though. it isn't nearly as powerful as paid programs like nero.since it's free, you can't really complain about what it doesn't do.. but if you have a simple burning project, it is sufficient.
